Description
A lush, welcoming walkway provides a pathway along the Catawba River at Landsford Canal State Park in Catawba, South Carolina. The 448-acre park contains the ruins of the Landsford Canal built between 1820 and 1825 using slave labor to bypass rapids on the Catawba River. The spider lilies are one of the largest remaining stands of Shoals spider-lilies which bloom from mid-May to mid-June. The park offers hiking, picnicking, boating, and fishing, as well as a playground.
