The Angel Oak, a Southern live oak tree located near Charleston, South Carolina, is considered a Lowcountry treasure. It is 65 feet high with a circumference of 25 feet, providing shade to 17,000 square feet. Estimated to be 300-400 years old, it is listed as the largest live oak tree east of the Mississippi. Approximately 400,000 visitors flock to the area to see the tree each year.
