A whelk shell is found at Botany Bay Plantation Wildlife Management Area on Edisto Island, South Carolina. The area is a must-see destination for anyone visiting Edisto Island. A short half-mile walk brings you to Botany Bay beach, commonly called Boneyard Beach due to fallen trees, whitened by the sun, resting in the sand and weather-worn trees resting in the water. The beach itself is stunning, showcases nature at its finest and has sun-bleached white sand, tide pools filled with sea creatures and seashells, and endless views.
