Description
Lush green resurrection fern, moss and old oak trees provide a beautiful landscape behind the Frampton Plantation House in Yemassee, South Carolina, there is lush, green resurrection fern and beautiful old oak trees. While the property was part of an original King’s Grant to the Frampton family in the 1700s, it now serves as a visitor information center and museum. The property has a rich history: burned by General Sherman in 1865; rebuilt in 1988; remodeled in 1930; and finally donated to the Lowcountry Tourism Commission in 1993. Today the old farmhouse has been restored and the beautiful old oaks have been preserved. Open to visitors every day of the week, it offers a unique look into South Carolina's rich history.
